The Ghost Carriage
Inktober 2018 - Venezuelan Myths. Drawing number 13. In the dark streets of the city of Puerto Cabello, Carabobo State, the sound of horses hooves clipping is often heard along with the noise of the wheels of a carriage. Those who have seen the carriage describe it as an old one pulled by energetic horses enveloped in flames. The elders of this place assure that this carriage appears when someone is about to die to take their soul to the depths of hell. Those who see it make it go away by making the sign of the cross and praying a Creed.

Inktober 2018 - Venezuelan Myths. Drawing number 24. This is one of the most popular Venezuelan myths. A horrible spectre which can be spotted roaming through the plains. He is known as El Silbón (meaning the man who whistles), due to his most bizarre characteristic: he produces a chilling whistling sound, and if it's heard nearby it denotes that he is far away, and if on the contrary it is heard far away it's a signal that El Silbón is very near.
