Will o’ the Wisps
Inktober 2018 - Venezuelan Myths. Drawing number 7. In Venezuela, will-o'-the-wisps are a common phenomenon, especially in the east, where they are believed to be the tormented souls of those who died tragically, were condemned for their sins, or that refuse to leave us. Often blue or green, they are observed wandering over savannas, near tombs, and around rivers, ponds, and seas.

Inktober 2018 - Venezuelan Myths. Drawing number 24. This is one of the most popular Venezuelan myths. A horrible spectre which can be spotted roaming through the plains. He is known as El Silbón (meaning the man who whistles), due to his most bizarre characteristic: he produces a chilling whistling sound, and if it's heard nearby it denotes that he is far away, and if on the contrary it is heard far away it's a signal that El Silbón is very near.
