The Ghost of Boves

Inktober 2018 - Venezuelan Myths. Drawing number 30. Jose Tomas Boves, a notoriously cruel officer during Venezuela's War of Independence, was executed in what is now Anzoátegui State. Yet, his ghost continues to haunt the region, riding swiftly across the plains on a stallion with terrifying neighs. His fiery hair and a bloody gash across his chest, the mark of his fatal wound, are visible when he emerges.
